Seriously, that's a ridiculous piece of analysis. You can't just fake a bunch of net hits, despite what Eli Lake and David Frum seem to believe about the internet. Additionally, though I'm not one to ascribe the entire Dem victory in 2006 to Kos and co., wouldn't this article about how far to the left the netroots are pushing the Dems, and how the country won't stand for it, made a lot more sense in October 2006?
Gee, Eli Lake must also believe that a few thousand Marxists in pajamas have rigged the ("scientific" non-Internet) polls that show that not just most Democrats but a majority of the American people as a whole want to get out of Iraq....
It's sound enough advice to not be whiny. But what Frum misses about frustration with Klein is that he is the far left pole of liberalness in Time, or on his TV shows, and he delights in bashing the left. Time also has Kristol and Krauthammer on staff, two bona fide movement conservatives. But their stand-in for a liberal is actually a guy who instinctively splits the difference, and takes potshots at the left, as part of his Serious, Sober Centrist schtick. There is no comparable figure for the right, I don't think. David Gergen, maybe?

I relize this is a joke, but here is the best example of simply not understanding the world as it is:

Wouldn't it be nice to think so. Highlighting the comment at the end I think saya a lot about Frum's understanding of how the world works.
