A good video-game example of this style is Bioshock, a first person shooter set in an undersea Randian paradise done up in an Art Deco/Steampunk style complete with pneumatic tubes. The game's a pretty slick indictment of objectivism to boot.
The computer consoles in the film Brazil were wonderfully steampunkish.
Well. It seems that everything "old" is "new" again...

Steampunk is pretty popular nowadays. "The Golden Compass" is a recent example. Lots of videogames and Japanese anime feature it. This is the first time I've seen it in "real-life" arts and crafts.
