Now That's More Like It

I knew Don Adams. And you, Steve Carell, are no Don Adams. (hat tip: Jonah)

The truth is that this show, despite all the funny people attached to it, just wasn't really that funny. (And I say that as someone who, even though I was just a kid, instinctively knew that Barbara Feldman was a woman I wanted to, uh, spend some time with ... even if I didn't know why.) And, of course, the less said about "The Nude Bomb" the better.

I just hope that in the movie, the bad guys are clear Arab stereotypes - dirty, smelly, pick their teeth with knives, only smile when Christians are in pain, fry and eat caucasian babies - so Jonah Pantload, K-Lo, Sailer and the rest of the Konservative Kritics Korner aren't offended.

Steve Carell may not be Don Adams, but he still has the overwhelming advantage of being Steve Carell. Maxwell Smart is the sort of material I think he could have a lot of fun with.

Now Matthew Broderick, he's no Don Adams.

I'm with Chris. If you're going to pick someone nowadays to play Maxwell Smart, Carell is a pretty good choice. Any other suggestions?

And Anne Hathaway as 99? Also a good choice.

"Missed me by that much."
