Rich Lowry spins a similar hypothetical.

It is unclear to me why Ross thinks that a Romney Long March is substantially more likely to be successful than a Giuliani Long March. After all, Romney is in single digits in the national polling, whereas Rudy is in 2nd place.
Given the number of times Lowry has wrongly written "We are Winning" regarding Iraq, I wouldn't trust his ability to handicap the horse race.
""My Mom and Dad are buried here," Romney told his audience, recalling his father, the late Michigan Gov. George Romney, and his mother, Lenore, a 1970 U.S. Senate candidate in the state." What a bummer for Mitt! That's two votes he can't count on. Unless.... maybe he can register them after death...

I'm beginning to think K-Lo and Lowry crave a Mitt Romney sandwich.
