You've got two Simons and no Chase up there.
Yeah, it should be Chase of the Sopranos. Also, it might be worth mentioning Milch's other forays in TV; unlike the other two, he had a significant reputation before HBO.
It's Whedon.
Yeah, it's Joss.
Since we have a thread involving the wire up, why not make this a prediction thread regarding the finale.
I say:
Daniels and Pearlman tell Carcetti about how the homeless killings were a fraud, Carcetti keeps it quite so it won't hurt his gubenatorial bid, Rawls is persuaded to keep it quite by being promised to be new head of state police when Carcetti becomes governor.
Levy figures out that the police got the info on stanfield through an illegal wiretap, but is also caught buying sealed grand jury testimoney. Because Carcetti needs the wiretap info to be kept quite, he has Pearlman get Levy to agree not to look into the wiretap in exchange for dropping everything on the grand jury leakes. Marlo walks but is forced to give up crime, Chris on the other hand pleads to all the vacant murders and recieves life without parole.
Marlo sells the greek connection to the Coop members for 10 million; retires from the drug game, but has no idea what to do with himself.
Slim Charles kills Cheese in revenge for Joe
Michael having become a wanted man becomes the new omar, and robs drug dealers.
Dukie becomes a dope fiend along with his fellow junk trades.
Carcetti wins the election, promotes Rawls to state police chief, Campell becomes the new mayor, promotes Valchek to police cheif.
McNulty and Fremon are fired from the police department because of the fake homeless killings, but are not arressted because it would draw attention to the fake, which no one wants.
Templeton wins a pulitzer for his reporting.

Ross, thanks for the link. But you should be aware that the finale of "The Wire" has leaked online, and that all over the internet, assholes are posting ogibt "predictions" about the finale that are actually spoilers based on their viewing of the leaked DVD.
Gordo, who posted the same bunch of "predictions" multiple times in your comments section, is pretty clearly one of the assholes in question. Don't read his comments -- just delete them.
Trust me on this.
Ross Douthat,
In case you didn't hear, Hugh Hewitt pwned you in the hour after you did the interview on his show. He claimed he taught you a lesson and basically embarrassed you behind your back before replaying the entire interview. Join the ranks of Sullivan, Josh Micah Marshall and others who suffer the spew of spewitt. Hewitt is incorrigible in his bile.
Gordo is a world-class-level asshole.
I guess this shows how often Ross reads his comments.
I believe you mean Milch of 'John from Cincinatti' -- as it is that show that disqualifies him. (I would put Deadwood as superior to the others).

I'm a huge The Wire and The Sopranos fan, and I like most of the HBO Series (I think I'm one of the few people who actually liked K Street and wanted to see it continue). But for my money Alan Ball's Six Feet Under tops them all, at least for sheer entertainment value.
