Via Larison, I see that in the latest Rasmussen poll, almost a third of Democratic voters say that Hillary Clinton "should run an Independent campaign for the White House." Now that would be entertaining to watch.

This just follows the reliable adage that a third of any sample size will always have some crazy-ass opinions about things. Yes, the world is 33% batshit stupid.
You jest but if she thinks she has a serious shot at sending the election to the House of Representatives and winning the Presidency there she might actually do it.
While it would be interesting, I wonder if the Hillary supporters who claim they wouldn't vote for Obama, and vice versa, really want to risk a McCain presidency when the Democratic candidates aren't all that different.
You jest but if she thinks she has a serious shot at sending the election to the House of Representatives and winning the Presidency there she might actually do it. Why would she win the presidency in the House? Wouldn't they give it to, you know, the Democratic nominee? It's also hard to see how it would go to the House, given that such an election would almost certainly throw every reasonably close state to McCain.
She's already said she wouldn't do this like a million times. Admittedly, she's a liar, but where would the money come from, exactly? Her wealthy donors would abandon her en masse, and she's already hugely in debt. She's wealthy, but I don't think she's actually wealthy enough to self-finance a national campaign. She certainly couldn't win without party support. Seems more likely that she'd accept the VP spot with McCain, actually. At least that would give her a real chance of getting back in the white house, as VP and/or as Pres if McCain drops over.
Perot didn't change the outcome of the 1992 election, I thought (only OH would have swung the other way were it not for him, I thought, based on exit polling). "Hillary Nader," then. But it won't happen. Hopefully Democratic elders are trying to talk her down, along with folks like McGovern and Edwards playing Goldwater to her Nixon.
She could pick Joe!mentum as her running mate, running together on the Boomer Asswipe ticket.
Maybe Hillary could run on the Gypsies, tramps, and thieves ticket – but ultimately she will go it alone: http://theseedsof9-11.com
Hillary is a typical James Bond villain. Name a Bond film in which the villain says "OK Mr Bond, I give up, you win." Hillary is drunk with delusions of grandeur and wants to go out in a blaze of glory like James Cagney in White Heat. She's on a kamikaze mission to destroy Obama, so that after he loses she can say I told you so and begin plans for her 2012 campaign.
i think more and more hillary is gunning for the VP position.
and if barack obama doesn't give the VP to hillary, i don't think that he can unite his own party against mccain.
LOL. James Bond villain. Barack Obama named John Edwards as his running mate. Who might Mrs. Clinton have chosen as her vice president? Dr. No? Mr. Goldfinger? Mr. Clinton? Mercifully, perhaps we shall never know: http://theseedsof9-11.com
Obama's campaign lost the chance to unite the party when it started with the batshit stupid misogyny - the "c***" and "b****" slurs at Clinton voters, the Tracy Morgan "uppity bitches just need a good lay" SNL diatribe, the Randi Rhodes "whore" comment, the "sweetie" and "claws come out" garbage, etc. That's to what that third is reacting. Can't tell 'em what to do about it, as we're stuck either way in an Obama/McCain scenario, but the sentiment stems from a legitimate complaint.
When did Obama's campaign make those slurs at Clinton? Perhaps some of his overly-zealous supporters did stuff like that, but his campaign did not, and some of Hillary's supporters have been no less disgusting -- i.e., racist. And how is he responsible for what SNL does? Give me a break. Grow up already and get a grip on the real world.
Clinton has taken Kentucky and Obama is right there in Oregon. http://edition.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/20/primary.wrap/index.html If you’re tired of waiting around for those super delegates to make a decision already, go to LobbyDelegates.com and push them to support Clinton or Obama If you haven't done so yet, please write a message to each of your state's superdelegates at http://www.lobbydelegates.com Obama Supporters: Sending a note to current Obama supporters lets them know it's appreciated, sending a note to current Clinton supporters can hopefully sway them to change their vote to Obama, and sending a note to the uncommitted folks will hopefully sway them to vote for Obama. It's that easy... Clinton Supporters too …. ! It takes a moment, but what's a few minutes now worth to get Clinton in office?! Those are really worth ! Sending a note to current Clinton supporters lets them know it's appreciated, sending a note to current Obama supporters can hopefully sway them to change their vote to Clinton, and sending a note to the uncommitted folks will hopefully sway them to vote for Clinton.
