I'm not the only one who's had enough.

"strange coincidence, in that nobody gives a shit about their opinion either." Yeah, god forbid Ross give his own opinion...in his own blog!! douche
Wow...there is so much Ross negativity on this board. I've got to assume it's because the Atlantic's base is left of center, according to Andrew, but I didn't think they were vicious like the readership at the DailyKos or Huffington Post. Yglesias's readers aren't like that.
Douthat the Great? Ross, you could have been more subtle with your pseudonym.

All these superhero movies are a giant steaming pile of excrement. These movies are hurting America by dumbing down our culture to death. We need more movies like The Godfather, Mean Streets, Goodfellas, My Dinner with Andre, All the President's Men, In the Heat of the Night, Nashville, Sophie's Choice, The Graduate, A Man for All Seasons, Network, Save the Tiger, Midnight Cowboy, Easy Rider, Patton, The Great Escape, Annie Hall, Manhattan, Sideways, Safe, Primer, The Hours, and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest.
Just give us good movies. Doesn't matter if they're comic book movies or not. Iron Man and the first Spider Man were good. Most people liked the Tim Burton Batman movies. There's nothing to suggest to me that the genre won't continue making winners and stinkers, like any other movie genre. Obviously when a genre catches on, there is a tendency towards lazy formula use, and greenlights given to sub-par products. Then things naturally self-correct. Every genre gets its cycle of prominence, and comics fans should be happy theirs is now, even if Electra and the FF movies were mostly no good.
Douthat the Great, I've thought about your post. You're right. So I've changed it from Hack to a word he's obviously fine with. If a moral man like Ross is fine with McCain calling his wife it, who am I not to call Ross it.

You shouldnt slate an industry you are so desperate to be part of.
maybe you'll get to write the script for 'Nuke' from daredevil sometime.
